In a strategic move to strengthen its cloud security capabilities, Google has announced the acquisition of New York-based cybersecurity platform Wiz for $32 billion in an all-cash deal. Once finalized, Wiz will become part of Google Cloud, reinforcing the company’s commitment to security and multi-cloud innovation in the age of artificial intelligence.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai emphasized the significance of the acquisition, highlighting Google’s long-standing dedication to online security. “From the very beginning, Google has been at the forefront of keeping people safe online. Today, as businesses and governments increasingly operate in the cloud, the demand for robust security solutions and flexible cloud computing options is greater than ever,” he said. “By joining forces with Wiz, we are accelerating advancements in cloud security and multi-cloud capabilities.”
