Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, visited the headquarters of Dubai Customs to assess the organization’s latest strategic and operational development initiatives. His visit reinforced the critical role Dubai Customs plays in strengthening the emirate’s security framework and maintaining stringent border safety measures.

Accompanying him on this visit were Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, and Omar Ali Salem Al Maidoor, Secretary General of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council. Together, they reviewed the organization’s latest efforts in aligning its operations with Dubai’s broader security and economic vision.

Sheikh Mansoor reaffirmed the leadership’s commitment to enhancing security at border crossings, in line with the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He acknowledged Dubai Customs’ dedication to innovation and its proactive approach in implementing strategic initiatives that elevate Dubai’s status in the global customs sector. These initiatives, he noted, are key to realizing the ambitions of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to drive long-term, sustainable economic growth.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration between Dubai Customs and other government entities to anticipate and address future challenges. By leveraging advanced technology and sustainable practices, Dubai is positioning itself as one of the world’s leading urban economies.

During the visit, Sheikh Mansoor commended Dubai Customs for its forward-thinking projects, which align with global advancements in customs management. Dr. Abdulla Busenad provided an in-depth briefing on the organization’s key initiatives, developed with support from Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem expressed gratitude for Sheikh Mansoor’s visit, highlighting the leadership’s dedication to strengthening government operations and driving continuous progress in customs management. He emphasized that such efforts are essential in reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global trade and logistics hub.

Dr. Abdulla Busenad underscored Dubai Customs’ commitment to integrating advanced technologies to enhance security and operational efficiency. He noted that these initiatives directly support Dubai’s broader strategic objectives and the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council’s mission to safeguard the emirate’s borders.

Omar Ali Salem Al Maidoor reiterated the importance of coordinated efforts in border security, emphasizing the necessity of seamless information exchange between Dubai Customs and the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council to optimize integration and operational efficiency.

Among the key initiatives discussed was the Hatta Gateway project, a cutting-edge customs facility designed to fortify border security with advanced artificial intelligence-powered systems. With its official design now approved, the project aims to enhance security capabilities, streamline border operations, and increase the center’s capacity to handle future challenges effectively.

Sheikh Mansoor’s visit underscored Dubai’s unwavering commitment to innovation, security, and economic growth, reinforcing its global leadership in trade facilitation and customs operations.
