Martin Praises Rogers Stadium, Clarifies Initial Middle of Nowhere Remark

Date:

Coldplay’s Chris Martin has clarified his earlier comments regarding Toronto’s Rogers Stadium, emphasizing his praise for the venue rather than any criticism. His initial remark on Monday, thanking fans for their travel to this weird stadium in the middle of nowhere, had been misinterpreted by some.
During the third of four Coldplay concerts at the stadium on Friday, Martin directly addressed the audience, explaining his true intent. He affirmed his appreciation for the venue, stating, Im so grateful to have somewhere where we can hang out with all of you, and that he never meant to be disparaging.
Since its opening, the 50,000-capacity stadium has been addressing initial complaints about crowd control and egress. Rogers and Live Nation Canada have acknowledged these concerns, with Live Nation actively working on improvements such as easing traffic congestion and enhancing crowd flow to ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience for all guests.
As these operational adjustments continue, the stadium is preparing to host K-Pop group Blackpink for two highly anticipated shows on July 22 and 23, further establishing its role as a key venue for major musical acts.
