Dubai Allocates 40 New Mosque Sites, Opens 19 in First Half of 2025

Date:

Dubai has taken significant steps to support its growing population and urban expansion by allocating 40 new plots of land for mosque construction across 22 areas in the first half of 2025. The initiative, led by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, includes plans for 22 large mosques and 18 smaller ones designed for regular daily prayers.
In addition to these future developments, the department has successfully completed and inaugurated 19 new mosques across 19 different locations. These newly opened mosques, built at a total cost of over Dh150 million, are designed to accommodate a combined total of 15,850 worshippers.
This expansion in worship infrastructure reflects Dubai’s commitment to meeting the spiritual needs of its residents while promoting inclusive community development. The strategic distribution of mosque locations ensures that accessible prayer spaces are available in both established and rapidly developing neighborhoods.
By continuing to invest in religious and social infrastructure, Dubai is reinforcing its vision of fostering a culturally inclusive and spiritually enriched urban environment.
