UAE President Names Seven Mosques After Emirates to Mark National Day

Date:

The President of the UAE has directed that seven new mosques in Abu Dhabi be named after each of the nation’s emirates in celebration of Eid Al Etihad. The initiative is part of the wider National Day commemorations and aims to reinforce unity and national identity.
The mosques, scheduled to open in January, will collectively accommodate around 6,000 worshippers. Built in a modern architectural style, they blend traditional Islamic design with contemporary elements, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to cultural heritage and innovation.
According to the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, the naming initiative highlights the leadership’s dedication to promoting the values of unity, generosity, and progress among future generations. The project has been developed through collaboration between the Presidential Court, the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, and the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi.
