The UAE has launched a Dh764.5 million ($208 million) tourism investment plan in Salalah, Oman, aimed at transforming the coastal city into a leading global holiday destination. The initiative includes a luxury resort, marina development, and beachfront revitalization over a 2.5 million square metre site in Jinawf.
The first phase of the project, covering 604,000 square metres, will include a high-end resort with over 120 rooms and chalets, alongside major upgrades to the marina and coastal areas. Infrastructure improvements such as roads and public utilities are also part of the development.
This strategic investment strengthens UAE-Oman relations and supports Oman’s Vision 2040, which identifies tourism as a critical pillar for economic diversification. The project is expected to create hundreds of job opportunities and stimulate growth in multiple sectors.
Salalah, renowned for its lush greenery and cooler climate during the Khareef season, attracts millions of visitors annually, particularly from Gulf countries, India, and Europe.
