Tesla’s Star Fades as Musk’s Politics Drive Customers Away

Elon Musk’s political entanglements may be dimming Tesla’s once-bright reputation. Marketing expert Scott Galloway told the Pivot podcast that Musk’s recent actions—including leading the controversial “Doge” department and aligning with the Trump administration—have pushed away Tesla’s ideal customers.
From being ranked 8th in brand reputation to a distant 95th, Tesla’s image is in free fall. European sales are down, and Musk’s inflammatory social media presence is adding fuel to the fire. Tesla’s 71% profit drop underscores the severity of the crisis. Musk now says he’s easing off his “Doge” involvement, calling it a completed mission.
