Dubai Police Reunite Travellers with Dh26 Million in Lost Items, Strengthening Global Trust

Date:

Dubai Police have successfully returned lost belongings worth Dh26 million to their rightful owners in 2024, reinforcing their commitment to security, efficiency, and public trust. The General Department of Airport Security played a pivotal role in ensuring that misplaced valuables were swiftly identified and returned through their advanced lost and found system.

Brigadier Hamouda Balsuwaida Al Ameri, Director of the department, highlighted that Dubai Police’s dedication to quick response times and thorough monitoring of loss reports was instrumental in this achievement. Their proactive engagement with travellers who reported lost items reflects the force’s mission to create a safer, happier environment in the city.

With Dubai International Airport recording over 92 million travel movements in 2024—including both arrivals and transit passengers—cases of misplaced baggage and valuables were inevitable. However, the seamless coordination of the police force ensured that many travellers were reunited with their lost possessions, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a global leader in security and hospitality.

“The success of the lost and found system is a testament to our unwavering commitment to ensuring safety and peace of mind for all travellers. Our work goes beyond security; we strive to foster trust, security, and happiness among residents and visitors alike,” stated Brigadier Al Ameri.

Beyond returning lost valuables, Dubai Police continue to uphold core human values, including tolerance, social responsibility, and community support. Their efforts not only safeguard individuals but also enhance Dubai’s standing as one of the world’s most secure and welcoming destinations.

Through their relentless dedication and state-of-the-art security measures, Dubai Police ensure that every traveller passing through the city experiences the highest standards of safety, making Dubai a global benchmark for security and hospitality.
