In a bid to streamline consular services, Indian diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates have launched a new system that enables applicants to schedule appointments for passport, visa, and attestation services via an official online portal. This development eliminates the need for paying any booking fees, as appointments can now be made directly through the portal.
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai have taken steps to manage consular services directly from their offices. This initiative is designed to simplify the application process, enhance efficiency, and curb unauthorized service charges that applicants might otherwise encounter.
Authorities have emphasized that appointments for these services should only be secured through the official online portal. Applicants are cautioned against engaging with individuals, agencies, or intermediaries who claim they can arrange appointments or offer expedited services on behalf of the Indian missions.
Additionally, the missions issued warnings against trusting any organization or representative that purports to be officially authorized to provide appointment services. They urge those who suspect they have been misled, overcharged, or falsely represented to report such incidents through the official communication channels of the Embassy or Consulate.
Indian nationals residing in the UAE and travelers are advised to depend solely on official communications and verified platforms for information regarding consular services. This approach is recommended to avoid falling victim to fraud and incurring unnecessary charges.
