UAE Issues Weather Alert: Heavy Rain and Strong Winds to Hit Abu Dhabi, Dubai on Sunday

Date:

The UAE is bracing for heavy rain and strong winds across northern Emirates this weekend, as authorities urge residents to stay alert. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts intense downpours in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and the Northern Emirates on Sunday.
Wind speeds could reach up to 55kph in certain areas, reducing visibility and stirring up dust. Coastal waters in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to be rough.
The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (Ncema) confirmed it is “closely monitoring developments” and issued safety advisories for northern, eastern, and western regions. Citizens are urged to avoid flooded areas and follow updates from official channels.
According to the NCM, light rainfall may begin on Saturday in Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah, intensifying on Sunday. While Abu Dhabi and Dubai are expected to remain dry on Monday and Tuesday, clouds may return midweek. Northern Emirates could experience further heavy rainfall on Monday and Tuesday, along with morning fog reducing road visibility on Tuesday and Wednesday.
