UAE and Ukraine Presidents Strengthen Ties, Discuss Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation

In a significant diplomatic engagement, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the UAE during an official visit, reaffirming the commitment to enhancing bilateral relations. The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, underscored the strong ties between the two nations and explored new avenues for collaboration.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed warmly received President Zelenskyy and his delegation, expressing hope that the visit would pave the way for deeper cooperation across various fields, including trade, investment, renewable energy, and food security. He extended his best wishes for stability and prosperity to Ukraine and its people during these challenging times.

The discussions highlighted the UAE’s dedication to fostering international partnerships that drive economic growth and sustainable development. His Highness emphasized the nation’s unwavering support for peaceful resolutions to conflicts, stressing that lasting progress can only be achieved in a stable environment. The UAE remains committed to playing a constructive role in global peace efforts, particularly in mitigating the humanitarian impact of the ongoing Ukraine conflict.

Acknowledging the UAE’s crucial role in mediation, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed gratitude for Ukraine’s cooperation in the exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia. He noted that this collaboration reflects trust in the UAE’s diplomatic efforts to alleviate human suffering and facilitate constructive dialogue.

President Zelenskyy, in turn, reaffirmed Ukraine’s commitment to strengthening its ties with the UAE, recognizing the vast opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors. He expressed deep appreciation for the UAE’s continued humanitarian efforts and diplomatic engagement in securing prisoner exchanges and providing relief to those affected by the conflict.

Following the high-level discussions, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed hosted a formal luncheon in honor of the Ukrainian delegation, further solidifying the spirit of partnership between the two nations.

The meeting was attended by several senior UAE officials, including H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; and other high-ranking dignitaries.

This landmark visit marks another step in the UAE’s commitment to fostering global partnerships, supporting humanitarian efforts, and contributing to diplomatic solutions that promote peace and prosperity worldwide.
