UAE Calls for Sustainable Political Resolution at Extraordinary Arab Summit on Palestinian Cause

Date:

At the Extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo on March 4, 2025, the United Arab Emirates reaffirmed its steadfast position on the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the urgency of a peaceful and lasting resolution to the ongoing conflict. Addressing Arab leaders, the UAE underscored the need for a decisive and responsible approach that prioritizes diplomacy over destruction, particularly in light of the escalating crisis in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Acknowledging the historic challenges facing the Palestinian people, the UAE called for immediate de-escalation and restraint to prevent further violence. It praised Egypt, Qatar, and the United States for their efforts in brokering the January 15, 2025, ceasefire but cautioned that temporary measures alone are insufficient. The UAE stressed that returning to pre-October 7, 2023, conditions is neither sustainable nor just, urging the international community to push for a comprehensive political framework that guarantees long-term peace.

Denouncing ongoing Israeli violations in the West Bank, the UAE condemned all acts of aggression, forced displacements, and provocative policies that undermine Palestinian rights and regional stability. It rejected statements dismissing the establishment of a Palestinian state and called upon global powers to take a firm stance against breaches of international law. The UAE reiterated its absolute opposition to any attempts to displace Palestinians from their homeland, warning that such actions threaten the security of neighboring countries and exacerbate regional tensions.

Emphasizing the need for a political roadmap, the UAE asserted that true stability in Gaza and the broader Palestinian-Israeli conflict can only be achieved through a two-state solution. It stressed that Gaza must have a legitimate and capable Palestinian authority that can ensure governance, security, and development, rather than being left in a state of perpetual uncertainty.

The UAE urged collective Arab, regional, and international efforts to support this vision, including active engagement from the United States. It called for renewed diplomatic momentum to create a viable and sustainable solution that not only restores peace but also paves the way for prosperity in the region.

Reaffirming its deep commitment to humanitarian efforts, the UAE pledged to continue providing vital relief to Palestinians. It highlighted Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, an ongoing initiative delivering life-saving aid to Gaza via land, sea, and air, as a testament to its dedication to alleviating human suffering.

As the summit concluded, the UAE expressed hope that Arab nations would emerge with a unified stance, working together to address these pressing challenges and fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinian people for security, dignity, and sovereignty. It reiterated its commitment to fostering peace through dialogue, cooperation, and unwavering support for Palestinian rights.
