Netflix’s Scooby-Doo! Live-Action Series to Uncover a Dark Camp Secret

Date:

Netflix is moving forward with its highly anticipated live-action Scooby-Doo! series. The show will feature a young ensemble cast portraying Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, and Velma. Produced by a collaboration between Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions, and Midnight Radio, the show will be overseen by showrunners Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg.
The plot revolves around the gang’s final summer at camp, where they meet a lonely Great Dane puppy who becomes the only witness to a supernatural murder. The group is drawn into a high-stakes investigation, one that could reveal their darkest secrets. The series is touted as a modern retelling that combines mystery, friendship, and supernatural elements.
The season will consist of eight one-hour episodes. While the working title is Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series, a final name has not yet been announced. Production, originally scheduled for late 2025, has been rescheduled. Filming is now expected to commence in early 2026, giving the creative team more time for pre-production.
This fresh take on the iconic characters and their adventures is one of Netflix’s most anticipated new releases. The show’s focus on a supernatural mystery and the gang’s youthful origins aims to captivate both longtime fans and a new generation of viewers. The search for the perfect cast, particularly the young Great Dane, is a topic of much discussion among the fan community.
