At the closing session of the Arab Media Summit in Dubai, Dr. Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to President Sheikh Mohamed, delivered a bold and inspiring message to the Arab world: it is time to abandon outdated ideologies and step confidently into a new era of progress and unity.
Dr. Gargash emphasized that clinging to obsolete political frameworks has only deepened divisions and obstructed development across the region. “The era of ideologies is over,” he declared. “They have weakened our nations and fractured our people.” He pointed to the Gaza conflict as a stark reminder of the failures of entrenched ideologies and the urgent need for a fresh perspective.
He called on Arab leaders to embrace technological innovation, prioritize education, and focus on economic opportunity—especially for the youth. “We must meet this moment of global change with vision and action,” he said. “The future belongs to those who prepare for it now.”
Highlighting the UAE’s strategic move to establish diplomatic ties with Israel through the Abraham Accords, Dr. Gargash reiterated the wisdom of engaging in realistic, peace-oriented diplomacy. He also reaffirmed the UAE’s firm support for the Palestinian cause, noting that the Emirates has provided over 42% of all aid sent to Gaza since October 2023.
Dr. Gargash urged nations like Lebanon and Syria to break free from forces clinging to the past, and instead pursue inclusive, forward-looking policies that prioritize stability, security, and shared prosperity.
“There can be no nation with two armies or militias holding power,” he warned. “Our strength must come from unity, opportunity, and education—not from slogans or force.”
In closing, he praised the Gulf states as models for economic success and regional influence, and called on all Arab nations to rise above division and build a shared future grounded in hope, innovation, and peace.
