Fathers’ Endowment: A Legacy of Care – Dh1 Billion Fund Launched to Provide Healthcare for the Needy

Date:

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, a new era of compassion and generosity unfolds with the launch of the Fathers’ Endowment, a groundbreaking initiative announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. This visionary campaign establishes a Dh1 billion fund dedicated to providing life-saving healthcare and medical treatment for those in need, reinforcing the UAE’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian efforts.

A Tribute to Fathers, A Gift of Healing
This initiative is more than just an act of charity—it is a heartfelt tribute to fathers, the guiding forces of strength, wisdom, and unwavering support. By donating in the names of their fathers, individuals have the opportunity to honor their legacy while making a tangible difference in the lives of the underprivileged.

“Fathers are our first mentors, our pillars of strength, and our guiding lights. This endowment stands as a tribute to their sacrifices, offering a sustainable source of hope and healing to those in need,” Sheikh Mohammed stated.

A Culture of Giving That Transforms Lives
The Fathers’ Endowment continues the UAE’s proud tradition of Ramadan-driven humanitarian initiatives. This sustainable fund will directly support hospital development, medical treatments, and the supply of essential medicines, ensuring that healthcare reaches the most vulnerable populations.

Mohammed Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, emphasized the far-reaching impact of such efforts: “The UAE’s culture of giving is deeply embedded in its identity. Every year, our humanitarian campaigns bring people together—governments, businesses, and individuals—creating powerful movements that change lives.”

A Legacy of Generosity: Past Ramadan Campaigns
The Fathers’ Endowment follows in the footsteps of several remarkable humanitarian campaigns initiated during Ramadan, each surpassing expectations:

Mothers’ Endowment (2023): Raised Dh1.4 billion, exceeding its target to fund education for millions globally.
1 Billion Meals Campaigns: From 2020 to 2023, these campaigns collectively provided over 1.4 billion meals to the underprivileged.
10 Million Meals (2020): Secured 15.3 million meals for those in need.
100 Million Meals (2021): Expanded to 220 million meals, reinforcing global food security.
A Call to Action: Be Part of This Historic Movement
This Ramadan, generosity takes on a new meaning. The Fathers’ Endowment invites everyone—from individuals to institutions—to contribute to this noble cause. Every donation serves as a lifeline, turning compassion into lasting change and ensuring that healthcare is not a privilege, but a fundamental right for all.
