RTA Expands Free Wi-Fi to 29 Bus and Marine Transport Stations in Partnership with e&

Date:

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully deployed free Wi-Fi services at 29 key public transport hubs—spanning 17 bus stations and 12 marine transport stations—through its strategic collaboration with e& (Etisalat). This initiative aims to enhance passenger convenience, ensuring seamless connectivity for commuters using smartphones, tablets, and laptops during their journeys.

Khaled AbdulRahman Al Awadhi, Director of Transportation Systems at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, emphasized the authority’s commitment to expanding digital infrastructure, stating:

“We have integrated Wi-Fi technology across 29 transport stations so far, with plans well underway to extend coverage to all 43 RTA locations—including 21 bus stations and 22 marine transport hubs. The full rollout is set for completion by the second quarter of 2025.”

This move aligns with Dubai’s broader vision of becoming the smartest and most digitally connected city in the world. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, RTA is not only improving passenger experience but also driving digital transformation across the public transport sector.

Al Awadhi further highlighted that the Wi-Fi service will undergo ongoing evaluations to optimize its performance and coverage. “We are working closely with e& to ensure top-tier connectivity standards, making daily commutes on buses and marine transport more efficient, enjoyable, and rewarding,” he added.

This initiative underscores RTA’s relentless efforts to integrate smart solutions, positioning Dubai as a global leader in intelligent urban mobility.
