The United Arab Emirates is gearing up for a spell of hotter temperatures and humid nights during the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday, as forecasted by the National Center of Meteorology. As the summer season looms closer, weather across the nation is predicted to be mainly fair with some partial cloud coverage throughout the week-long holiday.
A temporary dip in temperatures is anticipated on Sunday, which may also see fog or mist developing in certain western and coastal regions during the night and early morning hours. However, the heat is expected to make a comeback starting Monday, coinciding with the commencement of the Eid holiday for government workers.
During the festive period, temperatures in Al Ain could rise to approximately 43°C, while in Fujairah, they may reach around 41°C. Winds are likely to be light to moderate, occasionally gusting up to 35 km/h. Coastal areas might experience increased humidity levels at night and in the early morning, though seas in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are anticipated to stay calm.
This gradual increase in warmth marks the transition into the UAE’s summer season following a notably mild spring. Recent weeks have already seen temperatures exceeding 40°C in several parts of the country. The astronomical onset of summer in the northern hemisphere is set for June 21, aligning with these rising temperatures.
